The
Funders' Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities
Beginning in 2003, ActionMedia has conducted media analysis
and focus groups on the wide range of issues relating to the
built environment. (Click

PDF.) We have assisted in development of national and local
communication materials, and have provided communication
training to several hundred professional advocates, citizen
activists and foundation staff working to help their
communities decide what, where and how to build next.
The McKnight
Foundation
ActionMedia was part of the team of communication
professionals, foundation staff, and advocates that planned
McKnight’s multi-year regional communication campaign to "Embrace
Open Space." In 2007, ActionMedia provided strategy
development to the Mississippi River Collaborative regarding a
McKnight-funded Mississippi River report from the National
Research Council of the National Academies. In 2008,
ActionMedia is working with the Foundation on its youth
development programs with the University of Minnesota.
Sonoran
Institute
The Sonoran Institute helps communities in the Western states
make decisions about land use that respect the land and the
people of the West. ActionMedia conducted an audit and
analysis of Sonoran Institute's written communication
materials, and facilitated staff and leadership meetings to
develop new ways to describe the work of this organization,
and revision of materials to emphasize broadly shared
values. We've provided training and strategic consultation to
the Institute’s Board and to its northern Rockies programs.
